The COSAFA Cup kicked off in South Africa on Tuesday 5 July. The host country is the defending champion. They beat Senegal in the final of the previous edition.
Bafana Bafana and the Teranga Lions will enter the competition on 13 July, in the quarter-finals, at the end of the group phase in which they do not take part. They will face, respectively, Mozambique and the winner of group B.
