FECAFOOT - Elections: Rigobert Song stands behind Samuel Eto'o as president

Rigobert Song and Samuel Eto'o seem to have put aside their differences for good. From one captaincy to another, Rigobert Song passed on the band to Samuel Eto'o as captain of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. The two players won several trophies together as mates. Now the two ex captains are teaming up once again.

This time Rigobert is showing support to Samuel as the latter goes in to the elections of the presidency of the Cameroon Football Federation.

Samuel Eto'o is indeed a candidate for the presidency of the national governing body. And Rigobert Song has decided to join him in his march towards the election scheduled for December 11. '' It's more than a support," he said. '' The candidacy of my younger brother Samuel for the presidency of the Federation deserves that he be given a chance, that he be given an opportunity. I think that today, Samuel Eto'o is the ideal person'' Song is quoted to have told the press.

Song added that the reason he decided to support him was because Eto'o remains his "teammate" and has gained experience. "We have a duty to give our young brothers what our elders have given us. Who better than Samuel Eto'o to do it? He has this capacity, he has lived a long time in football, he has learned everything," Song concluded.

The two men were spotted side by side in a team of members visiting the Northern regions of Cameroon ahead of the elections.
