Several national championships and cups resumed last weekend in Europe and African scorers took advantage of the opportunity to shine, including several Ivorians.

Ismaël Diomandé didn't go unnoticed on Matchday 23 of the Latvian championship. The Ivorian striker scored four times as RFS (2nd) beat Auda 5-2, one of the two goals coming from Senegal's Elhadj Mané. Riga FC (1st) won (6-0) at Tukums 2000 thanks to a goal from Nigerian Abdulrahman Taiwo and another from Congolese (DRC) Gauthier Mankenda.

In Switzerland, where Matchday 1 took place, Servette Genève won (3-1) at Grasshopper Zürich (3-1), with a brace from Ivorian Chris Bédia, the Zurich goal having been scored by Cameroonian Tsiy William Ndonge. FC Zurich overcame Yverdon (2-0) with a goal from Congolese (DRC) Jonathan Okita, while Lausanne Sports lost (1-2) at Young Boys Berne (1-2) despite a goal from Senegalese Aliou Baldé.


Moses opens Spartak Moscow's season

In Denmark, where Matchday 1 was also being played, Randers secured a draw at Odense (2-2) thanks to a goal from Nigerian Stephen Odey.

Senegal's Mechemi Gomis scored twice in Estonia (matchday 21) as Paide (7th) beat Kuressaaare 4-0. In Finland (matchday 17), Mariehamn (10th) won 2-0 at FC Lahti, with a goal from Cameroonian Alvaro Ngamba.

In the Czech Republic (Matchday 1), Ivorian Mohamed Doumbia scored one of Liberec's three goals against Ostrava (3-1), while Mlada Boleslav beat Jablonec (3-1) with a goal from Gambian Lamin Jawo.

On Matchday 1 of the Russian championship, Nigeria's Victor Moses scored Spartak Moscow's first goal of the season against Orenburg (3-2).

Ivorian Karim Konaté scored twice in Red Bull Salzburg's 6-0 win over Ardagger in the Austrian Cup Round of 32.

Ghanaian Prince Kwabena Adu also scored a brace in Belarus, as Isloch beat Maxline 4-1 in the round of 16 of the national cup.
