Brentford (16th) drew with Aston Villa (3-3), thanks to goals from Cameroonian Bryan Mbeumo and Congolese Yoane Wissa.

In France (matchday 28 ), Clermont Foot (18th) had long thought they could win at the Parc des Princes against Paris-SG (1-1) after Malian Habib Diallo opened the scoring. Brest (2nd) beat Metz (17th) (4-3) thanks to goals from Malian Kamory Doumbia and Beninese Steve Mounié, while Ivorian Ismaël Traoré opened the scoring for the Messins. Montpellier (13th) overcame Lorient (2-0) with a goal from Ivorian Yann Karamoh, while Lyon (10th) won at Nantes (3-1), Nigerian Gift Orban completing OL's win in stoppage time. Marseille (7th) lost at Lille despite a goal from Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

In Italy (matchday 31 ), Senegal's Mbaye Niang gave Empoli (15th) an important win over Torino (3-2) in extra time.Napoli (7th) escaped the trap set by Monza (4-2), with a goal from Nigerian Victor Osimhen.

In Belgium (play-offs), Cercle Brugge (5th) dominated Union Sainte-Gilloise (3-2) away from home, with another goal from Togolese Kevin Denkey.FC Brugge (4th) defeated Anderlecht (3-1) with a brace from Nigerian Raphael Onyedika. Moroccan Anouar Haït El Hadj helped Genk (3rd) to victory at Royal Antwerp. La Gantoise (7th) clearly dominated Westerlo (3-0) with a goal from Moroccan Tarik Tissoudali, while Mauritanian Aboubakary Koita scored one of Saint-Trond's (9th) three goals at Mechelen (3-2).

In Austria (matchday 25 ),1st-placed RB Salzburg were held 1-1 at home by Rapid Vienna, despite Ivorian Karim Konaté opening the scoring.

In Scotland (matchday 32 ), the Old Firm between Glasgow Rangers (2nd) and Celtic Glasgow (1st) lived up to expectations (3-3).Senegalese Abdallah Sima scored the Gers' second goal. St Johnstone (10th) beat Hibernian 2-1, with a goal from Gambian Adama Sidibeh.
