Football - Fasil Kenema shock table leaders St. George in Ethiopia Premier League

Table leaders St. George suffered their first defeat in the 2021/2022 BetKing Ethiopia Premier League on Sunday.

The reigning champions who are in second place stopped St. George 1-0 in a match played at the Bahir International Stadium.

Nigerian import Okiki Afolabi netted a first half goal for Fasil Kenema to make sure they picked maximum points and brighten their chances with five matches to end the season.

St. George, who lead the table with 54 points, failed to create many scoring chances. While the table leaders suffered their first defeat after 25 matches, Fasil Kenema who are five points adrift St. George has lost four matches.

In the other matches played on Sunday 4th placed Wolayta Dicha Fc settled for a goalless draw against Arbaminch Ketema, while Adama Kenema FC moved to ninth place on the log after a 3-0 thrashing of  Sebeta City FC.

Two matches were played on Saturday with Ethiopian Coffee Fc beating Hawassa City FC 3-1, while Addis Ababa City Fc and Jimma Aba Jifar FC settled for a 1-1 draw.
