Football - Nigeria: Gift Orban an incredible gift from Bison FC

After Paul Onuachu, who was very prolific in the last three seasons left for Southampton last January, Belgium has discovered another unstoppable Nigerian striker. His name is Gift Orban, he was trained at Bison FC (Nigeria) and he has been scoring goal after goal since his arrival at La Gantoise two months ago.

The fans of Gantoise couldn't have asked for a better end of year gift. On January 31, the club paid 3 million euros to bring in a 20-year-old Nigerian striker who, until then, had only spent six months in Europe, in Norway, where he played for Stabæk FC. His name is Gift Orban. Even if his stats in Norway (19 goals, 7 assists in 24 games) could presage a success in Belgium, what he is doing now is way beyond expectations.

33 goals, 9 assists in 35 games for Gift Orban

This Saturday, in the 31st day of the Jupiler Pro League, Gift Orban put Ghent on the map with a 5-0 victory over FC Seraing. He scored the first two goals for his team (18th and 53rd). Since his arrival two months ago, he has scored 14 goals in 11 games. The 20 year old Nigerian had already announced the color in his first game with Ghent by scoring twice.

In the last four games, Gift Orban has scored 9 goals. The player who left his club Bison FC (Nigeria) in May 2022 to join Europe currently has 33 goals and 9 assists in 35 games in the Old Continent. Stunning.

Insatiable in front of goal, Gift Orban's value is skyrocketing. While he was valued at 1 million euros by Transfermarkt in December 2022, the Nigerian is now estimated at 10 million euros.
