Sudan Premier League champions Al Hilal SC will host Kumasi Asante Kotoko in an international friendly match to be played at the Al Hilal Stadium in Khartoum on August 23rd, 2022.
Congolese coach Florent Ibenge who won the TotalEnergies Confederation Cup with Morocco’s RS Berkane last season will have his first international friendly since signing for the Sudan team.
“This friendly match comes at a very good time because we are preparing ahead of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League. It is a new Club for me and getting to know players better is good during competitive matches,” added Ibenge.
After failing to travel to Turkey a few days ago due to visa challenges, the Ghana Premier League Champions will also have a good test against Al Hilal who reached the group stage of the 2021/2022 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.
The Sudan team Al Hilal is regarded as the most successful Sudanese team to have competed in the African Champions League. They made it to the final in 1987 and 1992 and five times reached the semi finals in 1966, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2015.
