Tanzania’s Simba SC have sacked head coach Pablo Franco Martin.
The development comes after a series of poor results that the team has recorded in the Tanzania Premier League and the Azam Sports Federation Cup.
The Spanish born coach was sacked today. “Simba Sports Club has reached an agreement to mutually part ways with our head coach Pablo Franco Martin,” said the Club communication signed by the CEO, Barbara Gonzalez.
Pablo Franco Martin joined Simba SC last November and guided them to Mapinduzi Cup. They also reached the quarter final stage of the TotalEnergies Confederation Cup 2021/2022 where they lost to Orlando Pirates.
But results have not lately been so positive for Simba SC where they trail archrivals Young Africans SC by over 10 points in the League and lost to the same team last weekend in the semi final stage of the Azam Sports Federation Cup.
“We thank coach Pablo for the success achieved during his tenure with the Club where he won the Mapinduzi Cup, and reached the quarter final of the CAF Confederation Cup,” added the Simba communication.
The club also announced that they have reached a mutual agreement to part ways with the fitness coach Daniel De Castro Reyes. “The team will now be under Selemani Matola until the end of the season,” added Simba SC.
