Génération Foot are champions of Senegal for the 3rd time in their history.On the 24th day of the Senegalese Ligue 1, all the Grenats needed was a win to become champions. Facing Diambars academy, Génération Foot showed their desire to end the suspense right from the start, with numerous chances created in the Saly academy camp. Their salvation came in the 60th minute when Ibou Sané won a penalty. Captain Jean-Louis Barthelemy Diouf stepped up to save from Diambars goalkeeper Idrissa Ndiaye, but the ball fell to Pape Moussa Fall for the only goal of the game.
The win, which was enough to take an 8-point lead over the runners-up with 2 matchdays to go, enabled Génération Foot to claim their 3rd Ligue 1 title after 2017 and 2019. The Grenats enjoyed an exceptional second half of the season, going 13 games unbeaten, including 10 consecutive wins. Balla Djiba's men had lost Lamine Camara and Papa Amadou Diallo during the season. For the 2023/2024 season, Génération Foot will represent Senegal in the Champions League play-offs.
