Persian Gulf: N'Koudou sparkles as Mahrez and Bounedjah score

Effective in Europe, the Africans were equally effective in the Persian Gulf.In particular, Cameroon's Georges-Kevin N'Koudou scored twice in Saudi Arabia. Mahrez, Ceesay, Bounedjah, Kebano and Diallo also scored in this part of the world.

In Saudi Arabia (Matchday 15), Al Ahli (3rd) strolled to a 6-0 win at Abha. Ivorian Franck Kessié and Algerian Riyad Mahrez each scored a goal. Ghana's Bernard Mensah scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot between Al Taee (11th) and Al Fateh (1-0). Al-Raed (17th) beat Al Wehda 2-0 thanks to Moroccan Mohamed Fouzair and Algerian Amir Sayoud. Damac (8th) beat Al-Feiha (9th) 4-2 away from home, with two new goals from Cameroonian Georges-Kevin N'Koudou and another from Gambian Assan Ceesay, while the hosts' two goals were scored by Nigerian Henry Onyekuru. Al-Ittihad (4th) dominated (4-2) Al-Khaleej (14th) thanks in particular to a penalty from Moroccan Abderrazak Hamadallah, while Togolese Khaled Narey scored for the visitors.

In the United Arab Emirates (Matchday 9), Al-Wasl (1st) clearly beat Al-Bateh ('4-1), with a brace from Ivorian Adama Diallo. Congolese Neeskens Kebano (DRC) scored in Al Jazira's (5th) 4-1 win at Bani Yas. Ajman (11th) were held to a 1-1 draw by Hatta despite a goal from Congolese Vieljeux Mboungou.

In Qatar (matchday 10), Morocco's Oussama Tannane helped Umm-Salal beat Al-Duhail (1-0). Algeria's Baghdad Bounedjah scored one of Al Sadd's four goals (2nd) against Shamal (4-0). Morocco's Achraf Bencharki scored in Al Rayyan's (3rd) 4-0 win at Al-Ahli Doha. Leaders Al-Gharafa were held to a 1-1 draw by Al-Wakrah, despite a goal from Algerian Yacine Brahimi. Qatar SC (8th) came from behind to defeat Muaither SC (3-2).Two Moroccan players scored: Badr Banoun for QSC, Aymane El Hassouni for the visitors.

In Bahrain (Matchday 8), Ghanaian Daniel Asante gave Al-Hala (7th) a 1-0 win over East Riffa. Tunisian Firas Chaouat scored one of Al-Muharraq's three goals (6th) against Manama Club. Senegalese Mamadou Diawara gave Busalteen (12th) a precious win at Al Najim.

Sitra (8th) won (2-1) at Al-Shabbab with a goal from Ghanaian Alexander Amponsah, while Togolese Adewole Olufade reduced the deficit for the home team.

On Matchday 6 of the Iraqi league, Nigeria's Ibrahim Tomiwa once again proved his worth with a brace in Newroz's (4th) 3-0 win over Karbala.

His compatriot Samson Gbanebp helped Al Naft (9th) to a 1-0 win over Al Shorta.Niger's Bobakir Jabril gave Al Karkh (10th) all three points against Duhok (1-0).

In Kuwait (Matchday 8), Al Arabi took first place by beating Al Kuwait (3-0), with a goal from Senegalese Mamadou Thiam and another from Nigerian Anago Iwuala. Al Qadisiya (3rd) were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Salmiya, despite Tunisian Youssef Ben Souda opening the scoring.Al Shabab (7th) came from behind to beat Khaitan 4-1 thanks to two goals from Senegalese Omar Wade (penalty) and Birahim Gaye. Libyan Almuetasim Allafi scored one of the three goals for Al Naser (6th) at Al Jahra (3-0).
