Rwanda Football Federation reinstates Secretary General Muhire

The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has today announced that their Secretary General, Henri Brulart Muhire has been reinstated after serving his suspension.

Muhire who had been suspended two weeks ago for issues of accountability resumed his office today.

“Today, 05th July 2022, FERWAFA has reinstated Mr. Muhire Henri Brulart as General Secretary after the end of suspension period,” said FERWAFA in a communication.

But Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) who have already charged Muhire with two other former FERWAFA officials say he is still under investigation.

“Muhire is still under investigation but he is not detained. His case is the same as that of Felix Nzeyimana and Javan Tuyisenge and the court will handle it jointly. The court will determine whether he will be placed under detention or not,” said RIB Spokesperson, Thierry Murangira.

Muhire together with the former Ferwafa head of competitions Nzeyimana and referee Tuyisenge are all suspected of committing crimes of forgery and falsification in an to disqualify Rwamagana FC from the second division league knockout stage.

Muhire was appointed FERWAFA Secretary general only six months ago.
