In just a few months, Logan Costa has gone from utility player to regular in Toulouse's central hinge. The Cape Verdean defender has no intention of stopping there. He's determined to keep working to maintain his place, and also hopes to play for his country at an African Cup of Nations.
On April 29, 2023, Logan Costa's life turned to the bright side. The Cape Verde-born defender had just started for Toulouse in the French Cup final against Nantes. The 22-year-old defender scored twice in the first 10 minutes, helping Toulouse to a 5-1 victory and a place in the Europa League. Even if he puts this success down to collective effort, scoring two goals at the Stade de France like a certain Zinedine Zidane did in 1998 is a bit out of character. "It's the collective victory when we lift the cup, the reward we've managed to achieve. We've made our mark on the club's history, and that's great. Then, of course, there are the two goals..." recalls the 22-year-old in an interview with So Foot.
Logan Costa continued. "I'm very happy, but I think we need to stay focused.Above all, we all told ourselves that it was 0-0 and that we had to keep pushing.A soccer match goes by quickly, but at the same time, 90 minutes is a long time... After the second goal, I didn't realize. I'm at a loss for words. I've scored goals before in my life, but I'd never scored twice! Right now, I don't really realize what I've done...".
