U17 AFCON: Cameroon eliminated as Burkina Faso completes the quarter finals

The third day of group C of the U17 AFCON ended with a victory and a qualification of Burkina Faso at the expense of Cameroon (2-1). The complete table of the quarterfinals is now known.

Cameroon, the defending champion, is eliminated from the competition in the first round. The Indomitable Cubs lost (2-1) to Burkina Faso in the final round of Group C on Sunday, May 7. If they thought they had taken a serious option for the qualification, they will be caught up 15 minutes later by the Burkinabe, whose game was centered around winning dwells in the middle and launching direct counter attacks.

In two minutes, the Cameroonians were crucified by Souleymane Olio, author of a double (76th and 78th). Serge Mimpo-Tsintsémé's men will not manage to come back to the score. In a group of 3 with the exclusion of South Sudan, Mali already qualified, both teams needed only a draw to advance to the next round.

The Cameroonians leave by the tiniest of exit doors and let the Burkinabés slip into the quarterfinals. The 2011 champions join Senegal, Mali, Algeria, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa and Congo.
