In the quarter-final first leg, the Merengues hosted Manchester City in a clash between the competition's last two winners. It was bound to be a tough battle between two teams who have crossed swords in the last two seasons, both winning in the semi-finals. And we weren't disappointed, to say the least. In this exceptional duel, a stroke of genius from Bernardo Silva in the2nd minute put Manchester City ahead. But, as is often the case, Real Madrid turned the tide within two minutes thanks to Camavinga (12th) and Rodrygo (14th). Madrid took the lead at the break in this clash of the titans.
In the second half, it was Manchester City's turn to mount a comeback. Phil Foden cleared Lunin's top corner (66th), then Gvardiol (70th) restored the defending champions' lead. But Real Madrid were not about to let their heads drop.Federico Valverde, set up by Vinicius, volleyed home to level the scores (3-3, 79th). The score was 3-3. Arsenal had lost 3 games in a row, 5-1 to Bayern. For this quarter-final first leg, the Gunners got off to a flying start thanks to their nugget Bukayo Saka (12th). However, the Munich side made up lost ground thanks to Gnabry (12th) and Harry Kane (32nd, sp).
In the second half, Arsenal attacked the Bavarian goal in search of an equaliser.Leandro Trossard scored in the 76th minute. No further goals were scored.
