Matchday 2 of the Champions League was played out on Tuesday October 3. The big surprise came at Bollaert when RC Lens beat Arsenal 2-1. Real Madrid defeated Napoli, while Manchester United fell to Galatasaray.

Lens topple Arsenal

21 years on, RC Lens made their return to the LDC on Tuesday October 3 at the Stade Bollaert and what a comeback it was!Facing the group favourites, the Sang et Or managed to defeat the Gunners (2-1). Mikel Arteta's men opened the scoring through Gabriel Jesus (14th). But the team-mates of Ghanaian midfielder Salis Abdul Samed, backed by the home crowd, responded with Adrien Thomasson (25th) and the man who clinched the win for Lens, Elye Wahi (69th).The win takes Lens to the top of Group B ahead of Arsenal and Sevilla. In the other match between PSV and Sevilla (2-2), the two protagonists shared the points in the LDC.

At Real Madrid, the spotlight has been on just one player since the start of the season: Jude Bellingham.Impressive since signing for the White House, the English midfielder was again decisive (8 goals in 9 games) in the 2-3 victory over Napoli.The 20-year-old delivered an assist to Vinicius (27th) before scoring his second goal of this LDC edition (37th). However, Madrid struggled to break away from Napoli before Valverde's impressive strike (78th).

Manchester United fall at Old Trafford, Bayern Munich avoid disaster

In Group A of the LDC, Bayern Munich thought it was going to be a quiet evening, but it was without counting on the tenacity of Copenhagen, who surprised the Bavarians from the outset through Lukas Lerager (55th). But the German champions reacted to avoid the worst through Musiala (67th) and Mathys Tel (83rd). At Old Trafford, Manchester United collapsed against Galatasaray (2-3), with André Onana still very shaky in goal.
