It was a hard fought victory for the Moroccans who were held to a goalless draw in the first half by Senegal. Morocco had a lion's share of the possession as well as created most of the chances but wrong timing coupled with precipitation saw most chances squandered.
In the second half of the game Morocco continued pushing and a cross into the penalty zone was deflected by a Senegalese hand. After consulting the VAR, a penalty was awarded to Morocco.

There was no turning back from there. Senegal could only manage the game to damage control as they showed little signs of getting an equalizer.

Senegal accompanied Morocco as best two sides from the group. Morocco finished with nine points, Senegal with six while Burkina Faso and Uganda both had a point each.
