Morocco will be at the appointment of the second round of the World Cup 2022. The Lions even finished first of their group F in front of Croatia, Belgium and Canada
Opposed to Canada for the third day of Group F, Morocco had to not lose to qualify. The Atlas Lions did better by beating Canada 2-1. They offer themselves the second qualification in the last 16 in their history in the World Cup.

In the second half, Morocco was content to manage its lead, leaving the ball to the Canadians. The latter struggled to be dangerous, however, until the last 20 minutes. In the 71st minute, Atiba Hutchinson headed the ball off the crossbar of Yassine Bounou. The ball comes back to Vitoria who puts his own head over. With three minutes left in regulation time, Bounou had a scare. The goalkeeper tries a chest control. Davies just misses to steal the ball and score in an empty net. The Moroccan defense will hold its advance until the end. The Atlas Lions finish first of their group (7 pts) in front of Croatia (5 pts), while Belgium is eliminated. After Senegal, Africa offers itself a second representative in the eighth round.
