World Cup 2022: Who is the best paid African coach?

The magazine "Finance Football" has made an in-depth study of the pay slips of the 32 coaches who will be at the World Cup 2022. If the ranking is dominated by the German, Hans-Dieter Flick, at the African level it is Vahid Halilhodzic of Morocco who wins the jackpot.

With just a few months to go before the 2022 World Cup kicks off in Qatar (November 18-December 22), we're starting to sniff around. After the base camps that have been unveiled by FIFA, specialized newspapers are not only interested in the sports side. "Finance Football" has oriented its investigation on the emoluments of the various national coaches who will be at the World Cup. And concerning Africa, which will have five representatives at the world tournament, the coach of Morocco is the best paid among his counterparts of the continent. Vahid Halilhodzic is therefore alone in the perch with his annual 920,000 euros. He earns the second highest salary in Group F after Belgium coach Roberto Martinez (1.2 million). Vahid's salary is almost double that of the other coaches in the group: John Herdman (Canada, 480,000) and Zlatko Dalic (Croatia, 550,000). The Franco-Bosnian coach is however 19th among the 32 coaches.

What Aliou Cissé Rigobert Song and Jalal Kadri earn
Vahid Halilhodzic is untouchable in terms of earnings at the African level. His salary is almost four times that of his Senegalese colleague, Aliou Cissé (286,116) and about three times the income of Cameroon coach Rigobert Song (381,528). The coach of Tunisia, Jalal Kadri, is the lowest paid with 130,000 euros annually. Concerning Otto Addo of Ghana, no information has been released about his pay slip.

Among the 32 coaches, Hans-Dieter Flick of Germany (6.5 million) is the best paid of the World Cup. He is followed by Gareth Southgate (England, 5.8 million) and Didier Deschamps (France, 3.8 million).
