Senegal fail in Togo

Togo's unbeaten run against Senegal in Lomé continues. The Sparrowhawks drew with the Lions of Teranga (0-0) on November 21, day 2 of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Senegal, however, tried to impose their game by attacking from the front. However, Aliou Cissé's men came up against a compact Togolese block, conceding even the most dangerous chances in the first half.

Édouard Mendy was saved by the crossbar before being forced to intervene with a low shot. The Togolese even had a great chance late on.Sadio Mané, a lively performer in this match, was unable to find a way through, allowing his team to walk away with the 3 points. Nicolas Jackson, Lamine Camara and Pathé Ciss also came on for the second half. Senegal remain group leaders on 4 points and goal difference with Sudan. Togo are 4th with 2 points.

Ghana's disappointment in Madagascar

After their victory over Madagascar (1-0) on the first day, Ghana lost to the Comoros (1-0) on Tuesday November 21. Mohammed Kudus and Ernest Nuamah, two players in demand at club level at the start of the season, came on in the second half but were unable to save their team.

This was Ghana's 3rd defeat in their last 4 matches. A bad operation for Chris Hughton, who is increasingly being called into question. The Black Stars thus find themselves 4th with 3 points behind Madagascar, Mali and the Comoros in these 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
