FIFA orders Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia to pay Mosimane $1.14 million

Pitso Mosimane, who led Al Ahli back to the top flight of Saudi soccer, was sacked by the Saudi team last season. The coach had lodged a complaint against his ex-employer for six months' unpaid wages, as well as for failure to comply with a clause which made the extension of his lease automatic, if he brought the team back to the top flight.

"In his [Mosimane's] claim, the plaintiff argued that the defendant [Ahli] had failed to pay various salaries, well over two months, despite being put on notice and given 15 days to remedy the default before unilaterally terminating the contract. In addition, the plaintiff claimed that several bonuses amounting to a net of $246,000 had not been paid", reports the South African press.

FIFA ruled in the technician's favor. World soccer's governing body ordered the club to pay Mosimane a total of $1,140,000. In detail, $355,500 in unpaid remuneration, which includes 5% interest, and $786,000 for breach of contract without cause, which also includes 5% interest.
