It's now official.Joel Embiid will indeed wear the colors of the United States at international level. The Philadelphia pivot, called up to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, received his first jersey from his coach, Nick Nurse.He will wear number 11.
Eligible for France and Cameroon, Joel Embiid has chosen to represent the USA in October 2023."I've been here for so long,"he recalled. In recent years, every decision I've made has been based solely on family. My family, my son, and having the chance to represent a country like the USA, since my son was born here...I love my home country, but I really wanted to take part in the Olympic Games," explained the 2023 MVP.
