Cameroon lost to Senegal (3-1) in their 2nd match at AFCON 2023. With just one point, the Indomitable Lions will need to beat Gambia in their final match if they are to qualify for the Round of 8. After the match, André Onana was asked about Cameroon's delicate situation."We're not eliminated yet. We're a great nation. We've got an important match coming up. We're going to give it our all. We know it's going to be difficult. That's why we're here. We're going to shoulder our responsibilities," the Cameroon keeper told Canal+ Sport Afrique.
André Onana also reflected on the match against Senegal. "We have to recognize the ability and quality of our opponents. We played against the African champions and they put us in trouble. But in the 2nd half, we controlled the game. The kids gave their all. We just have to recognize that our opponents did their job. We need to learn from our mistakes and move forward," concluded Onana.
