AFCON 2023 - Gambia: Camp in Saudi Arabia and a match in Morocco

Gambia, who got off to a poor start in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, losing to Burundi (2-3) and Côte d'Ivoire (0-2), will now be able to concentrate on preparing for the final phase of the next Africa Cup of Nations (January 13 to February 11, 2024 in Côte d'Ivoire), where they will face Cameroon, Senegal and Guinea (Group C). The Scorpions could be training in Saudi Arabia, in a city yet to be determined, from December 27 to January 5. A match against Morocco is also planned for January 7 in Rabat. The Gambians will then make a stopover in Banjul to meet Head of State Adama Barrow, for the traditional presentation of the flag, before flying to Côte d'Ivoire on January 9.
