With a hamstring injury, Mohammed Kudus missed Ghana's opening game at the AFCON 2023. The Black Stars lost their opener to Cape Verde (2-1). With 24 hours to go before a crucial match against Egypt, the Ghanaian midfielder is still doubtful for this encounter.
"We will continue to evaluate Mohammed Kudus. He's been training for the last few days. We'll assess him today and tomorrow and make a decision tomorrow," said Chris Hughton in a press conference.
The Black Stars coach added: "We need to make sure he's healthy. We can't afford to take any risks".
Beaten by Cape Verde, Ghana must now beat Egypt if they are to qualify for the second round of the AFCON 2023.
