Yugoslav coach Vahid Halilhodžić has been rumored to be heading to Africa, but he confirms that he has been approached by several of the continent's national teams. In large part, nations already eliminated from the AFCON 2023.
"First of all, I would like to confirm that I have received many calls recently. Perhaps 5 or 6 teams who have left the current version of the African Cup of Nations have contacted me and want to recruit me, but I don't want to reveal their identity. Believe me, my phone hasn't stopped ringing these days," he confided in an interview with Al-Araby.
Asked about the possibility of arriving on the Tunisian bench, Halilhodžić confirmed that he had not received any official offer. "I haven't received an official Tunisian offer yet, but maybe someone contacted me and I didn't reply. I don't know, because the volume of calls was high and sometimes I couldn't answer all the callers. I can't give you my current position, it's premature. I know that the Tunisians appreciate me, but perhaps I won't be available to coach their team", replied the former Algeria and Morocco coach.
