At a press conference, Guinea coach Kaba Diawara expressed his disappointment. "We wanted to win this match, and it's a shame. At the end, we could even have conceded a 3rd goal. Senegal dominated and there's nothing to say. It hurts because we don't like losing, but it's part of the game. We need to lift our heads and look ahead to the Round of 8," Kaba Diawara told the post-match press conference. Guinea have nonetheless qualified for the knockout. They will face Equatorial Guinea, who finished top of Pool A ahead of Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire.
