Côte d'Ivoire and South Africa, both qualified for the AFCON 2023, meet in a friendly match on Tuesday, October 17 at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny stadium. The match kicks off at 7pm GMT. South African striker Lebo Mothiba had this to say about the Ivorian team. "Côte d'Ivoire is a good team with several players who play in Europe. And I also think that Côte d'Ivoire are favourites for the next AFCON.
Mothiba also returned to their previous AFCON 2019 opposition in his pre-match press conference. "I remember that match in 2019. It was complicated for us. I think we put on a good show against a great team. Côte d'Ivoire scored the only goal of the game. It was a good experience for us. But tomorrow, it's going to be a completely different game in a completely different context. For us, it's a preparatory match to find out what level we're at before the competition," clarified the Strasbourg player.
