AFCON 2023 (Q): DR Congo vs Sudan in Kinshasa

The qualifier for the AFCON in Côte d'Ivoire (January 13-February 11, 2024) between DR Congo and Sudan will take place on Saturday September 9 at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa. The venue has been approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and the information was confirmed to Sport News Africa by Sébastien Desabre, the Leopards' French coach.

This decisive match, counting for the 6th and final day of the qualifiers, will give the capital's fans a chance to see their team again. Their last match at Les Martyrs dates back to June 4, 2022 against Gabon (0-1), on Matchday 1.The DRC then hosted Mauritania on March 24 at the TP Mazembe stadium in Lubumbashi (3-1), the Martyrs stadium not having been approved by CAF. The Leopards will also play a friendly against South Africa in Cape Town or Johannesburg on September 12.
