While all the signs are green on the pitch for Mali, who booked their place at the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations finals by beating Congo, behind the scenes the Eagles have suffered another setback.
48 hours after the match, part of the delegation has still not been able to leave Brazzaville, Sport News Africa has learned. A total of 13 players are still waiting to join Mali, including coach Eric Chelle and Cheick Doucouré. This situation is due to the fact that they have not yet been given return tickets, and will once again place the Malian Football Federation at the centre of criticism.
