AFCON 2023 Qualifiers: Nigeria with Victor Boniface and Gift Orban

There was one piece of news after another in Nigeria on Sunday, September 03. First, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) announced the extension of coach José Peseiro's contract. Then came the announcement of the list for the 6th and final day of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers. Nigerian fans were treated to the names of Victor Boniface and Gift Orban. The latter receive their first call-up. The Nigerians face São Tomé and Príncipe on September 10.

Goalkeepers: Francis Uzoho (Omonia FC, Cyprus); Olorunleke Ojo (Enyimba FC); Adebayo Adeleye (Hapoel Jerusalem, Israel).

Defenders: Olaoluwa Aina (Nottingham Forest, England), Tyronne Ebuehi (Empoli FC, Italy), Jordan Torunarigha (KAA Gent, Belgium); William Ekong (PAOK FC, Greece); Semi Ajayi (West Bromwich Albion, England); Calvin Bassey (Fulham FC, England); Jamilu Collins (Cardiff FC, England); Bruno Onyemaechi (Boavista FC, Portugal).
