To no one's surprise, Mamelodi Sundowns managed to win the first leg of the African Football League quarter-finals against Atletico Petroleos de Luanda (0-2). The match took a while to settle. Marcelo Allende (69th) and Thapelo Maseko (82nd) finally managed to break down the Angolan defense. Mamelodi Sundowns are now in a strong position to qualify for the semi-finals.
