Algeria - League 1: JSK fires Portuguese coach

 

Between Jeunesse sportive de Kabylie (JSK) and Portuguese coach Rui Almeida, the story has come to an end. The Algerian club has decided to terminate its contract with the coach.

"The Jeunesse Sportive de Kabylie (JSK) wishes to inform its loyal public and the sporting press of the termination of the contract of its former coach Rui Almeida and his staff, by decision of the Commission de Statut du Joueur (CSJ), an authority of the Fédération Algérienne de Football (FAF), thus ending the working relationship between the contracting parties", said the club in a statement published on its official network.

Rui Almeida, who joined Jeunesse Sportive de Kabylie on October 14, 2023, will not see out the remainder of his contract, which runs until 2025.The team's poor results finally got the better of him. The team is in 6th place (7 wins, 6 draws and 5 defeats) with 27 points after 18 matchdays in Algeria's Ligue 1. 13 points behind leaders Mc Alger.
