With one day to go in Burkina Faso's Ligue 1 football league, AS Douanes have been crowned champions for the 2022-2023 season. The club led by Kamou Malo validated its title thanks to its 2-1 victory on Sunday 14 May against ASFB on the 29th day of the championship at the Issoufou Joseph Conombo municipal stadium in Ouagadougou.
The Gabelous of AS Douanes thus succeed the Faucons of Rail Club du Kadiogo (RCK), champions of the last season. It is also the first ever Burkina Faso league title under former Stallions coach Kamou Malo.
AS Douanes will represent Burkina Faso in the CAF Champions League next season (2023-2024).
