CAF - African School Championship: Guinea off to a flying start

 

Four matches on the first day of the University Schools Football Championship, and four wins for Guinea. In both the boys' and girls' categories, the young Guineans won their first two matches in the UFOA A zone tournament, which kicked off this Friday, March 1, in Mauritania. Against the host country, the boys won comfortably (4-0), before going on to defeat Cape Verde (16-0). They saw their compatriots do the same for the girls against Gambia (1-0) and Cape Verde (2-0) respectively.

For their part, Senegal also made a clean sweep of the boys' competition, with victories over Cape Verde (19-0) and Gambia (1-0). The Senegalese girls, on the other hand, fell to Gambia (1-4) after beating Cape Verde (4-1). This Saturday will see the final decisive matches, which will determine the standings in both categories, with a view to the next round and the classification matches.
