Beaten 1-0 in Tanzania last week, WAC won by the same score in Casablanca. The reigning African champions were able to rely on their Senegalese striker Bouly Jr Sambou. He scored the only goal of the victory in the 28th minute. This is his 7th goal in the competition this season in 10 games.
1-1 at the end of the two quarter-final matches, the Moroccans finally snatched the qualification in the penalty shoot-out (4-3). Kapombé and Chama missed for the Tanzanians while WAC scored all four of their attempts.
