Young Africans took an option and maybe a little more on Wednesday by beating Marumo Gallants (2-0) in the first leg of the CAF Cup semi-final, the Tanzanian side took a big step towards qualifying for the final. At this stage of the competition for the first time in their history, the Tanzanians thought for a while that they would not be able to find a way through against the disciplined South Africans. While the visitors had possession of the ball, it was the Tanzanians who had the best chances, but could not break the Marumo lock. It wasn't until the hour mark that Stephane Aziz Ki gave the crowd at the packed Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium a lifeline (64').
The hardest part was then done for the hosts, who were heading for a short but precious victory. But they finally took the lead in extra time thanks to Ghanaian Bernard Morrison (90th+2). With this win, Young Africans are in a good position before the second leg in South Africa.
