A first for USM Alger. Winners of the last edition of the CAF Cup, the Algerian club claimed the CAF Super Cup on Friday, beating Al Ahly 1-0. In a white-hot King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, the Usmistes got the better of the Egyptian Champions League winners, thanks to Zineddine Belaid's sole goal from the penalty spot just before half-time (43rd).
Al Ahly dominated the second half in an attempt to pull level, but the Algerians held firm until the final whistle. With this victory, USM Alger have added their name to the trophy cabinet for the first time in their history.
