Cameroon midfielder Yvan Neyou (26) has set his sights on a return to the Cameroon national team, with an appearance at the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations perhaps in the back of his mind. Given his excellent start to the season, the Leganés player is in with a shout.
In fact, his team is top of LaLiga 2, and he is one of its driving forces. When asked if he thought he would be more likely to be called up to the national team, given the good performances they have been putting in?The former Saint-Etienne man told FootMercato: "I don't know. Maybe the fact that I'm doing better with Leganés will encourage the coach to call me up to the national team. I'm always ready to play for my country. If Cameroon needs me, I'll be there. The player has never been called up since the advent of Rigobert Song.
