Having arrived in the Premier League this summer from Villarreal, Nicolas Jackson is still struggling to find his feet. Despite being named as Chelsea's first-choice striker by Mauricio Pochettino, the Senegalese has so far scored just one goal in four games, and has also missed a number of chances.
His clumsiness, or lack of success, was again evident during the friendly between Senegal and Algeria. And as the Blues take on Bournemouth this Sunday in the league, his manager was asked about his performance and played the patience card, referring to the adaptation period Jackson must go through. "As a striker, you have to score or make assists, but we have to understand that Jackson comes from Spain, he's young, he has to build his confidence. He has to adapt to the Premier League," Pochettino told a press conference. "It's only a matter of time, but he's doing a fantastic job for the team. He needs to be more clinical in front of goal but I think that will happen. There's no doubt he's a fantastic player."
