The players of the DRC's national team are in battle order against the "genocide underway in the Congo".Sponsored by Lorient-based Gédéon Kalulu, the "Je joue pour le Congo" association has mobilized players from European clubs, notably Ligue 1, such as Jordan Lotomba, Jean-Victor Makengo and Samuel Moutoussamy, to help victims of the war.
The association has set up a fund in which each player will donate 500 euros to humanitarian associations in the east of the country."Together, by pooling our strength and determination, we can make a significant difference and help build a better future for our brothers and sisters who are victims of these crises" , reads the association's website. In the DRC, the war between the Congolese army and the M23 group has already resulted in the death and displacement of millions of people.
