Côte d'Ivoire - Sébastien Haller: "The 2026 World Cup is a personal goal".

In an interview with FIFA.com, Sébastien Haller talks about his desire to play in the World Cup, particularly the 2026 edition. "I want to take part in the World Cup finals in 2026. It would be another milestone in my career, and I'd be able to say to myself that I've done what I had to do, and be proud of how far I've come. When I started playing soccer, I didn't necessarily think I'd be taking part in a World Cup. Now, I want to make it possible", declared the Ivorian striker.

For that to happen, Haller will have to fight hard to qualify for Côte d'Ivoire. The Borussia Dortmund striker is well aware of the daunting task ahead. "This qualification process is long, and it's easy to get carried away (...) All the teams are working hard to get up to scratch. African soccer is levelling out. We also have to deal with the vagaries of the weather, and keep physically fit when traveling across this vast continent. When you add it all up, you realize that it's very complicated to get a win in Africa, and when you do, it's all the better," he emphasized.
