Cycling: Giro Italia 2023 with five Africans at the start

The Giro, the mythical Italian cycling tour, starts this Saturday, May 6. It will continue until May 28. Two hundred and eight riders are lining up for the start. The route, which will end in Rome, is 3489 kilometers long. It will have 21 stages and 22 teams.

There are 5 Africans in this batch. They are four Eritreans: Mulubrhan Henok, Merhawi Kudus, Ghebreigzabhier Amanuel, Tesfatsion Natnael. There is also the South African Stefan De Bod. They are part of the EF Education - EasyPost, Randonnée Segafredo and Projet Vert teams.
