A starter in Sunday's 1-1 draw between Bétis and Sevilla in La Liga, Cédric Bakambu left his team-mates injured in the 50th minute. The Congolese player was stretchered off with an adductor muscle injury. Coach Manuel Pellegrini insists he is unlikely to return this season. “We still don't have a precise medical diagnosis for Bakambu, but due to the type of injury, I think it will be difficult for him to play again this season,” lamented the Chilean after the match.
This injury could also prevent Cédric Bakambu from playing against Senegal on June 03. A match counting for Day 3 of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
