It's all over between Rui Victoria and the Egyptian national team. The Portuguese coach has been relieved of his duties following Egypt's elimination from the last 16 of the AFCON 2023."The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Federation, following its meeting today to discuss the technical and administrative reports concerning the national team's participation in the 2023 African Nations Championship in Côte d'Ivoire 2023, has decided to dismiss Portuguese Rui Vitoria,t he coach of the Egyptian national team and his assistant staff, while studying the biographies of the foreign coaches and presenting them at the next meeting," reads the statement issued by the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) on Sunday, February 4, 2024.
Mohamed Youssef will remain at the helm of the Egyptian national team until the appointment of the next coach, informs the EFA. At the helm of the Egyptian national team since July 2022, the Portuguese coach was bound to the Federation until 2026. He made just 18 appearances for the Pharaohs, including 12 wins, 5 draws and one defeat.
