The verdict is in. The Gabonese Football Federation (Fégafoot) has been found guilty of wrongful dismissal in the case against Patrice Neveu, the former coach of the Panthères. As a result, FIFA has ordered the Gabonese body to pay the sum of 500,000 euros (around 325 million CFA francs) to the French coach.
Recruited in May 2019, Patrice Neveu was fired in September 2023 for lack of results. The decision came just hours after the Gabon national team was eliminated at the African Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire. Neveu had been linked with the Panthères until 2025.
As a result, Patrice Neveu has taken his case to FIFA for unfair dismissal. After 28 matches on the Gabonese national team bench, the coach won his case.
