A young player in Bayern Munich's reserve team, Mamin Sanyang is currently in Argentina with the Gambian national team for the FIFA U-20 World Cup. With a few appearances with the Bavarian club's first team in training, he is delighted with these experiences.
"Bayern gave me the opportunity to train with the first team," he explained in an interview with the Gambian Football Federation media. "I was able to see how the professionals are, how they play and how they train. Sadio Mané spoke to me and gave me advice. So I'm applying myself to that," said Mamin Sanyang.
At Bayern, he rubs shoulders with Sadio Mané and admits to having spoken with the Senegalese national team star. "Sadio is one of the best players in the world, he's humble and one of my idols. It was nice to sit next to him and talk to him in Mandinka, because he speaks my language. He explained a lot of things to me: how to be professional, how to improve on the pitch. I was like a kid, it was like a dream", he said.
