Having already qualified after dominating the Dominican Republic and Italy, Nigeria lost to Brazil on Saturday in the third matchday of the FIFA U-20 World Cup. The Nigerians lost 2-0. As Italy also won 3-0 against the Dominicans, Nigeria dropped to 3rd place in the group with the same number of points as the Brazilians (1st) and the Italians (2nd). The Nigerians therefore qualify as the best 3rd-placed team.
