Hugo Broos has published his list for the matches against Eswatini and Côte d'Ivoire. The 23-man squad does not include Cassius Mailula. The young South African striker left Mamelodi Sundowns this summer to join MLS outfit Toronto FC. It's a transfer that doesn't sit well with the Belgian coach. The latter made this known at a press conference, and was not kind to Bafana Bafana's agent.
"You have a good agent when the agent takes care of things. But if you have an agent and the agent only looks after his portfolio, you don't have a good agent. I'm afraid (Cassius) Mailula doesn't have a good agent. When you let him go to Toronto, where you know there are two Italian internationals (Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi) and a Canadian international (Deandre Kerr), you know he's not a good choice. He's a young player with only 15 matches (18 to be precise) in the PSL. Mailula won't be playing (...) So for me, it's a lost season (...) He should have stayed at Sundowns and played in the Champions League again, to gain experience," said the South African coach, as relayed by iDiski Times.
Cassius Mailula has played two games since arriving in Toronto.
“You have a good agent when the agent is looking at you, but if you have an agent and the agent is only looking at his wallet than you don’t have a good agent."
