Al Ahly are set to lose Hamdi Fathi. The defensive midfielder, a three-time CAF Champions League winner, is to join Al-Wakhah SC. The Qatari Premier League club paid €3 million to persuade Al Ahly to let go of their rugged Egyptian international defensive midfielder.
Hamdi Fathi, 28, has 29 caps for the Pharaohs. He was a starter in the final of the 2021 African Cup of Nations, which Egypt lost to Senegal.
