Algeria and Egypt will meet in a friendly on October 16 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, the Algerian Football Federation has announced.
"As part of the FIFA window for the month of October 2023, i.e. from the 9th to the 17th of this month, and in anticipation of its next deadlines, which are the 2026 World Cup qualifiers starting in November and the CAN TotalEnergies - Côte d'Ivoire 2023, the national team will face Cape Verde and Egypt respectively in a friendly. The Greens will first take on Cape Verde on Thursday October 12 at Constantine's Chahid Hamlaoui stadium (8:00 p.m.), then travel to Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, to face Egypt, who host the match on Monday October 16", the FAF press release states.
The last time the two nations met was at 2010 AFCON in Angola. Egypt won 4-0.
